Architectural Builder
A single level house designed by Allan Powell Architects sits behind a 5.0 meter high, blank white cement wall. A finely crafted dark stained timber garage wall is the only building element seen from the street.
We have built a number of homes designed by Allan Powell and know this oeuvre well.
Through an opening in the wall, we are taken on a journey to the front door. One becomes curious to take a look inside. The orientation of the house takes full advantage of the northern sun and the private courtyard garden. The boundaries of inner and outer spaces feel ambiguous. The focus, as with most of Allan Powell’s designs, is on privacy and combining nature with architecture.
Landscaping combines the use of large granite boulders gradually following the slope of the site with lush mass planting.
